Nits - Hotel Europa - LP
The Nits are a Dutch art-Pop-Rock group, founded in 1974 in Amsterdam. Their musical style has varied over the years, as has their line-up, but the core members are lead singer and lyricist Henk Hofstede, Robert-Jan Stips on keyboards (worked with Supersister, Gruppo Sportivo, The Golden Earring) and Rob Kloet on drums.
Few bands can match their stamina: how many other bands can claim to be reinventing themselves after 30 years and 20 albums? The Nits specialize in making their latest album sound as little like the last as possible. This has simultaneously guaranteed them a stable degree of success across continental Europe, where fans appreciate their integrity and commitment to playing intimate venues. Nits produced hits like "Nescio", "In The Dutch Mountains", and "J.O.S. Days". Starting with their Giant, Normal, Dwarf tour in the early Nineties, the band continued to record their live shows around the world, playing gigs in cities like Vienna, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. Hotel Europa collects these live recordings in what might be the ultimate Best Of Nits album.
