Yellow Magic Orchestra is the first official studio album by the Japanese electronic band Yellow Magic Orchestra. An early example of synth-pop — a genre the group helped pioneer — it contributed to the development of electro, hip hop, and techno. The album's innovations included its use of the microprocessor-based Roland MC-8 Microcomposer sequencer and its sampling of video game sounds.
